Fujifilm Helps Fight Crime with the new FinePix S3 Pro UVIR

Posted at August 9, 2006 8:18 AM

There’s a formidable new tool available to crime-fighters.

Fujifilm U.S.A. has introduced the FinePix S3 Pro UVIR, the world’s first production D-SLR camera capable of taking photographs in the ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) light spectrums.

This powerful D-SLR fits the needs of professionals in several fields, with perhaps its most interesting application being in forensic investigation. The FinePix S3 Pro UVIR will aid law enforcement agencies in the recovery of forensic evidence unseen by human eyes, such as bloodstains or gunshot residue, as well as damaged or obliterated writing.

Priced at $1,799.95, Fujifilm’s FinePix S3 Pro UVIR will be available through select authorized dealers in the United States beginning September 2006.
